Management Team
David Splivalo
President and Chief Strategy Officer
In his role as president and chief strategy officer of Freestyle PR, David is responsible for ensuring the agency's success on three fronts: industry reputation and market position, domestic and global growth, and service offerings. He is also a principal-in-charge of several of the agency's accounts including the Technology Association of Iowa, the largest state technology association, and eSoles Custom Footbeds, the global authority and manufacturer of custom and custom modular insoles for the mass market.
In addition to managing Freestyle, Splivalo also contributes to the tactical programs of several of the agencies accounts. His highest accolade on the media relations front was securing 35 (and counting) NBC TODAY Show segments since 2007 for his client Jim Stickley of TraceSecurity, an industry feet never accomplished before in the public relations arena for a non-entertainment company. The first segment on TraceSecurity (which lasted almost six minutes) to appear on the TODAY Show was January 2, 2007, the most watched broadcast of the year. In addition to his contacts at the TODAY Show, David also maintains long-term relationships with prominent members of the media and news organizations on the East and West Coast.
Before founding Freestyle PR, David co-founded Capitol Hill Communications, a government and business communications firm specializing in tailored services for governments, agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals as it relates to the US government and critical infrastructures. Following the opening of Capitol Hill Communications, David was hired as the first PR manager for Scott Speed, the only American race car driver competing in the most watched sport (other than the summer Olympics) in the world, Formula 1. Prior to Capitol Hill Communications, David worked at several other public relations firms in the Midwest, East Coast and Silicon Valley. David has managed PR for nearly 60 startups since he began his PR career in the 1990's.
In his spare time, David restores cars, travels, plays his guitar, and works on his historic home. David earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Fresno State and is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America.
